About the Sleep Support Project
The ethos of the Sleep Support Project is to aim to provide informed emotional support and counselling for people living with sleep issues or diagnosed sleep disorders.
We are qualified BACP Registered counsellors based in Greater Manchester, able to provide one to one counselling and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), via face to face counselling in the Manchester area, or telephone counselling sessions across the UK. We are also able to offer CBT-i (CBT for insomnia), group support and sleep workshops.
Our sleep workshops are designed to inform and increase awareness of sleep disorders and healthy sleep practices, tailored to support businesses and employees who may be affected by sleep concerns as a result of working irregular shift patterns or night shifts.

Project Director:
Counsellor – Lisa Berry (PG Dip., MBACP)
I am a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of BACP (The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy). I qualified in 2016 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from The University of Strathclyde, and have since completed training in CBT for insomnia (CBT-i) and Solution-Focused Therapy. I am dedicated to continuing professional development through additional training and learning.
I have over eight years’ experience in counselling adults and young people, in various settings that have included private practice, educational, third sector and Employee Assistance Programmes which support employees from various sectors (Police, NHS Staff, Doctors, Retail, Rail, Civil Service, Army, Government, Probation Service, Prison Staff, Hospitality, Social Workers, and so on). I have previously worked extensively with adult survivors of historical trauma, and with clients presenting various mental health issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, relationship issues, stress, addictions, attachment issues, and personality disorders. I am dedicated to promoting self-care, encouraging men’s mental health, and interested in the positive impact of creativity, football/sport/exercise, music and writing on supporting wellbeing. I provide long-term and short term counselling via telephone or face to face sessions.
I am passionate about anything relating to sleep, am an advocate for prioritising good sleep health as part of supporting good mental health and supporting others living with long-term sleep disorders, and I am a member of the British Sleep Society (BSS). Being professionally and personally aware of the impact of sleep conditions on mental health, and vice versa, I set up the Sleep Support Project with the ethos that sleep needs to be prioritised as a significant part of supporting mental health and wellbeing, and that people living with long-term sleep disorders deserve tailored, informed emotional support.
